Skaftafellsjökull

One of the amazing things in Iceland is the biggest glacier in Europe - Skaftafellsjökull. It is located in Skaftafell National Park in the eastern part of the island. Our original plan was to find ice cave but it turned out that ice caves are usually created in winter time and they're not easy accessible. In that case we decided just to hike on top of the glacier and see how dirty it is. Usually people imagine glaciers as something clearly white - this one was black - ice melted with ash gave this color.
