Montenegro trip

As you probably remember from my previous posts, I had a lot of travel plans for 2010. Unfortunately I switched the job and due to this have vacation problems, so instead of going to where I planned, I had to rearrange my plans. So I took the opportunity to use only 2 days off (because of Corpus Christi holiday) and have 6 days for trip to Montenegro. I know it will be very tough, but it might be the only chance to take some nice landscape pictures in the first half of the year. Now I'm browsing the net and searching for the spots. If you have any tips, please let me know. I'm also wondering which route to take - we'll probably go to Belgrad, then Montenegro, but still considering other choices....

Saturday in Poznan

Continuing our trip to Poznan/Wolsztyn area we had some time to visit beautiful Poznan's downtown in not so beautiful weather. In spite of that it was good enough to test my tilt-shift lens. I decided to play with it a little bit and show you some effects one can get during learning period. Of course these pictures should be treated strictly technical, not as an artistic piece of photography... and watch the sharpness of the lens - for me it's amazing!!!

Oaks - how to save bad pictures?

After watching the show in Wolsztyn, we decided to head to Rogalinek and take some pictures of great and beautiful oaks. Because sunrise in May is about 4 am it didn't make sense to get back to Poznan for some nap. So we stopped by BP gas station and had hot dogs with coffee (this kind of classic turkish coffee, where you have half glass of grounds and half glass of hot water). After such a portion of calories, about 2 am we headed to the mysterious place. We were there one hour ahead of time, so I was able to sleep a little bit in the car and my friend managed to write some content for webpage. Finally sun started to rise very slowly and first rays appeared among drops of rain. Of course it's not something that can scare us, so we've taken tripods and started taking pictures. I must say that even if weather is not perfect, but you still have some proper filters, you can finally have pictures that might be worth showing (I hope, but judge them yourself)...

Steam engines show in Wolsztyn #2

Here's part 2 of pictures taken in Wolsztyn during the light/sound show! Enjoy!

Steam engines show in Wolsztyn #1

Last Friday I've visited Wolsztyn Steam Engine Depot and managed to take some pictures. I would like to share them with you, because in my opinion they have some kind of magic. These old big machines had soul. Nowadays equipment doesn't have one and it seems to be a big difference...

more to come soon...
